In the year 2000 Thomas Grübel founded the company GGC Global Generation Cult GmbH. The first product was a small electric scooter for short distance use only. The launch of this product was very successful and over 3000 pieces were sold.

From this humble start, the e-max company was born which now enjoys global sales of a variety of EV (Electric Vehicle) products. thegreenhousebermuda is proud to be the authorized representative for e-max in Bermuda

The 2009 EVT scooters are more powerful than ever before, and now only feature lithium battery technology. In just over one year’s of operation, a lithium battery powered bike has covered 4500 miles of Bermuda’s roads at a total operational cost of $170, including all charging and maintenance.

The batteries are rated for over 1000 charge cycles and with one charge lasting 40-50 km, these bikes can easily accommodate daily commutes in Bermuda.
A bike with a lithium battery weighs 150 pounds less than an identical bike with a lead-acid battery so they are also lighter and easier to drive.
EVT’s direct driving hub motor is highly efficient with lower power consumption and a strong, even torque at all speeds. EVT also features battery energy management and warnings when batteries are low so the likelihood of being caught without battery power is greatly reduced.
And if you do get caught with a low battery, thegreenhousebermuda and Bicycle Works have partnered up to provide a convenient, in-town “Hot Swap” program. Just drive over to Bicycle Works on Tumkin’s Lane and for $15, you are quickly on the road again with a fully charged battery.
Electric scooters have come a long way over the past few years, and with added conveniences and improved technologies, they are an ideal option for Bermuda’s road.

CONS
While the manufacturer claims a 45KM range, we have found that in normal driving conditions in Bermuda the range is around 24KM or about 15 miles – weight, wind, hills and how you drive will ultimately determine the exact range that you achieve.
The requirement to have the battery charger located in a convenient dry location may be a challenge for some.
These CONS will ultimately determine if the EVT bike is right for you. If you would like to take a test drive or pre-order a bike, please email Tim or call us at 333-7799.
